BCARL CARES
The BCARL Cares program provides funding, advice and other resources to applicants in need of financial assistance with veterinary care.
We provide financial assistance and resources to pet guardians struggling with economic hardship when pets are in life-threatening situations.

The BCARL Cares program helps animals who need urgent and emergency veterinary care. We may assist in various amounts up to $500, and is intended to fill a gap in funding that is keeping an animal from care.

Decisions are based upon several factors, including: medical urgency, financial need, available funding, and eligibility. Due to the number of applications we receive, we cannot help everyone.

Once an application has been submitted, you can expect to receive a response by email or phone within one to two business days. Please be sure to check your email for confirmation that your application was submitted, as well as for a response to your application.

If an animal is in need of immediate care, where any delay will put the animal at risk, it is the owner’s responsibility and duty to seek care for the animal immediately. There is no guarantee that the BCARL Cares program will be able to provide financial assistance.
Resource Directory
In addition to the services that BCARL provides directly, we have also provided a link to the REDRover directory online which provides a comprehensive directory of organizations in the United States and Canada that can provide financial assistance with veterinary care. This directory includes dozens of grant and loan programs and fundraising tools.
This directory is provided as a resource. RedRover cannot guarantee that any of the organizations listed will be able to help in your specific situation. Listing does not imply endorsement of the clinic or program by RedRover. Veterinary clinics are listed only if they have an emergency fund.
Please contact us if you know of an organization to add to this directory.

Kathi, a Good Samaritan, reached out to RedRover Relief for help with a dog named Ringo. Because of RedRover’s suggestions including the links above, she did not need our grant after all and she was able to raise more than $2,000 to fund Ringo’s veterinary care. She later wrote: “I cannot thank you enough for your help so far. I am overjoyed from the kindness of others…and it is a great feeling! Your advice and direction is what got things rolling.”

BCARL Cares Pre-Application Questions
BCARL Cares provides financial assistance and resources so pet caregivers can care for animals who need urgent veterinary care. Assistance is intended to fill a gap in funding that is keeping an animal from care. The amount of assistance varies, but can be up to $500. Due to thevolume of applications we receive, the program is unable to help everyone who applies. Before applying, you must have a clear diagnosis and specific treatment plan in place from a veterinarian.

Please note that this form can time out. If that happens you will not be able to submit the application; you will need to refresh the page and reapply. That way, when you refresh the page you’ll have those answers ready to copy and paste into the application.

* Please note that while the BCARL Cares application is set up to be accessible from a phone web browser, phones will sometimes have difficulty submitting the application. The best way to submit the application is from a computer.
